Acer was preparing two or three tablets Android-based CPUs use Intel's Sandy Bridge that was recently launched. All three products are likely to be launched in this first half of 2011. Options Acer is a little different from most manufacturers using ARM processors to their Android device, but Acer felt that Sandy Bridge will be suitable for tablet market.
These tablets will be marketed using the screen size of 7 to 10 inches. According to sales manager of Acer Taiwan, Lu Bing-Xian, the tablet is intended to shift the netbook products they produce. Although Acer hopes that it produces tablet netbook products will be replaced but they still will produce low-cost notebook aimed at the casual user. According to Lu, tablets made of this Acer will be able to run faster than a laptop that uses Windows OS with four processor cores.
